Before we get too far into December, I wanted to post some pictures from Thanksgiving. We spent the afternoon at my mom and Jerry's, arriving just in time to watch football and had dinner with them, my grandma, Uncle Joe and Aunt Karen. Afterwards, we headed to Randy's Aunt MaryAnn's house for dessert and to spend some time with his parents and side of the family.
Dinner was so good. I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of all. I love the beautifully set table, the sharing of a really great meal and the stuffing (which is my absolute favorite!).

Last weekend, we put up our Christmas tree and decorations and I found Mia's Santa sweater. I had to put it on her just for fun, since she hates it so much.

I also wanted to post some pictures of a little backyard remodeling project that we've had going on for the last several weeks. We always knew that we were going to be putting a pool in the backyard here - we just didn't know when. After meeting with several builders, we decided to put one in this fall. It's cheaper, less of a mess than spring and it has the added bonus of being finished by the time the weather turns nice.
Because of some issues with an easement in the backyard, we ended up having to flip the design of the pool to go along the length of our house. Which meant that some of the existing brick paver patio had to be torn up and that we needed to tear down the little porch we had coming off the kitchen door.
So, we ended up building a small brick paver patio off the house which will butt up directly with the concrete around the pool. The entire pool/yard will be fenced in. Unfortunately, the weather turned a little bit too cold to pour the concrete this year, so the project isn't entirely done. Next spring, concrete will be poured, the fence put up and then we'll just need to do some landscaping.
