Exciting news!

We have some exciting news....we sold our house! We got an offer last weekend, countered and then we passed the inspection later this week. Barring any problems with the mortgage/appraisal process, we will be moving by the end of May! We're not sure yet where we're going to be living - we're going to look at houses tomorrow afternoon. :) So, if you have any boxes or know where I can pick some up, I'd appreciate it! 

So, it's been a while since I last posted - things have been busy around here. Last night, we were invited by one of Randy's friends to go to the Metro Times "Best of Detroit" party down at Motor City Casino. It was a lot of fun. They had free food, catered by some of the winners of the best restaurant categories, free drinks and entertainment. We did a little bit of gambling and only lost $4, which we thought was a pretty good price for a night out!

We had a really nice Easter, too! We went to church with my mom, Jerry and my Grandma and then went to their house for brunch. As usual, Grandma bought me peeps and Mom made us all Easter baskets. :) We then went to dinner at Aunt MaryAnn's with Randy's parents and extended family. Lots of fun!

For Easter, I made cake balls from this recipe. Basically, you bake a cake and when it cools, you break it up and add in a container of frosting. I used red velvet cake mix and vanilla frosting. Then you form them into balls and put them in the fridge to cool for a while. 

When they're cooled/firm, you fill candy molds (the peanut butter cup ones) with melted chocolate about 3/4 way and put one cake ball into each mold. Put them back in the fridge and let the chocolate harden. 

When they are hard, take them out of the mold and then melt different colors of chocolate in the microwave. Dip each cake ball into the chocolate (and ignore my half-painted nails). 

And then decorate with an M&M and sprinkles on top! They look like little cupcakes and they were so cute!
